Totally understand. imo; overthinking is a luxury if you have a roof over your head and you know where your next meal is coming from. It's so easy to fall into that trap, paralysis from nothing in particular that crashes into overload and insanity. Then I look at my cat and I get envious like "mofo is lucky they can't think."

TheBestBroster responds:

You are so right here. Overthinking is something that can usually only happen to people in privileged positions. Like me.

I guess I'm glad overthinking is the worst of my problems and not worrying about whether or not I'll be eating today. That is really putting a lot into perspective for me. Thank you for pointing that out to me.

But yeah, it is a struggle, nonetheless.

Haha yeah I wish we could let housecats know how lucky they have it! I

This is gorgeous! I just looked up that INXS cover you sampled to see the pose, you pulled off a great remix of it and put awesome twists on the source material. The colors and shapes are bombastic. Powerful self-portrait, this shows off so many sides of the artist simultaneously. This work jumped out at me but after a quick glance at your portfolio there is a constant flow of experimentation, inspiration, evolution, depth... I wish I was half as good at drawing when I was your age! I've lost that spark but I do hope you keep yours because the twists and turns are epic. Your catalogue is a journey <3

TheBestBroster responds:

Ahhhhh thank youuu!!!!

I'm so happy you like my art so much! Like, you called my catalogue a journey!! WHAT!!?
<3<3thank you so much!!

I don't think I'll ever lose this spark haha, its been there inside of me my whole life and so far, nothing has been able to bring it down. It is one of my biggest reasons for living after all.

Who hasn't defecated in a swimming pool?

Edit: lol, was just a joke. I like to downplay random off-the-cuff statements by saying "who hasn't..." all the time. "Who hasn't inserted a catheter?" "Who hasn't run over a llama?" "Who hasn't lost all their money sports betting?" It's an ice breaker to put people at ease when they over share :p

ChazDude responds:

I haven't! I swear!

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say that I'm currently looking for visual art for the art inspired music contest.

https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1544701

I'm in love with this visual style and was thinking of doing some piano and string music for it but I wish you left any amount of authors comments regarding your creative process, what's going on in the drawing, and why you made certain decisions. I like knowing what's going on in the mind of the artist and this visual style is so bombastic. Saying nothing about it sucks. The six parallel line drawing tool was a choice, that reminded me of a music staff for sheet music :3

I'm still looking at art, I have until June 16th to write something... but I do love this and it reminds me of the time I got to spend working on the OST for the Us series with Bleak-Creep. I'm sorry if you didn't need to know any of this but we're living in an increasingly AI environment and saying something about your work helps alleviate the stress that many viewers and artists might have right now. Stamp of authenticity and all that, have a human voice. Cheers eldoes :]

Yeah go right ahead! I appreciate you like this piece so much!!
I made this drawing in July of 2024, based on the lakeside houses in the town where my college campus is (and where I grew up). I loved the way the houses were lit by the setting sun, and their vintage architecture made me come up with the idea of drawing the street with two girls in 60's attire just living their lives. This drawing was a culmination of things I'm inspired by, primarily being history, and I was listening to a lot of Lesley Gore during this month as well so that was probably also an influence lol. The line drawing tool is called a "rake" brush, and I used it to lay down colour without it being too overbearing and chunky; Its a great way to give the art some texture and variety in a way thats easy on the eyes, but still stands out stylistically. If you have more questions, I'd be happy to answer!
Thank you so much for liking my work!

Gorgeous colours, love the figure. Beautiful work MM <3

Maggot-Milk responds:

thx! :D

Lol, those bugs are still the cutest. Glad you included them, projects can go through an evolution and this was a fun 180. That snail needs to make another appearance in the future :3

Bleak-Creep responds:

The jukebox was originally intended to be somewhat cute too, but when you said she looked angry, I just decided to lean into it and turned it into a neon hell, haha.

BUNNY EARS, SEXY LEGS, FINAL FANTASY? SHE'S OBVIOUSLY A VIERA YOU NOOB D:<

...but great work, awesome colors, lovely textures. Everything I love about your style, in a commission <3

Bleak-Creep responds:

Haha, thank you! I initially wasn’t sure I’d be able to adapt her to my style that well. :)

Despite your feelings on getting lazy with the background, it works well. The textures really give off the vibe that every nook and cranny is considered. Colors and shadows pop as always. Love your style BC <3

Bleak-Creep responds:

We always gotta have a bit of texture in there to dirty things up a little! I always work super clean, but I like it crunchy.

Does the copy machine accept cow meat? I'm on a really tight budget, got plenty of frozen beef though...

ConnorGrail responds:

yes, in fact if you look closely beef is actually used in this very example. it is a great meat to use

I can't wait to turn my body parts into metal like my dad. Getting old is cyberpunk. Eventually they put a tube up your urethra to automate pee. LEGENDARY.
