great stuff!

Beautiful man, really. I haven't listened to your work in a long time, and I'm starting to wonder why. This is simply gorgeous.

I love that beeping 4/4th thingy. Very relaxing. Very calm. Those sweeping pads are very cool and breezy. The drums work. I guess it's not easy to construct a snare out of just sine waves, but I really wouldn't know because I don't have an audio program that allows me to get into such depth with the instruments. If there was anything that I would recommend working on some more, it would be the drums, but I guess there's another version of this song I can go back and listen tom, right :P

p4c responds:

hehe yeah the snare was such a bitch, ill try to work on it later. its jst really really distorted :DD personally i like the other one better tho :)

if i start getting more stuff out ill be sure to tell ya, thx for the rev!

Rawr!

Well, the mix didn't sound EQ'd right, but the elements in this piece that took place were in my humble opinion quite awesome. The drums were neat, gritty, and original. Those interjecting claps really slice up the rhythm, good stuff.

The synths wern't the best sounding instruments, but I think they got the job done. I'd say work on making better sounding instruments. Other than that, this track is ace. Rock on man, rock on.

lol, funny.

Well, it's not using samples :D so good job there. Just letting you know though that you can create original stuff in garage band without using a mic to record outside noises. There are built in midi creation devices, musical typing options and plenty of preset instruments you can tool around with to create your music with but you might all ready know all that. If you need any help with garage band let me know. I use it too :P

The song itself is pretty funny, reminds me of that episode of Harry Potter Puppet pals where everyone sings their own name. Or several tracks I've heared here on newgrounds... or the song I made for my final art crit last semester... well, the idea isn't new or original, but I'm just happy that you went right to work on a track that didn't utilize any samples after I asked you to do so. Good job man, I hope to see more out of you sometime. (Hell, this submission makes me want to upload that track I made for class, lol.)

haha thats exactly what inspired me

Well, I was expecting more after that sick intro. I felt like the mix was a little tooo bassy which is hard to do with a genre that's so dependent on the bass. Hmm. I felt like the actual song was alright, just need to get that EQ right with it all. Silly voice sample, I approve of that. Voice samples are always a lot of fun.

Drums: Bass drum could be a little wider (don't really know how to describe the vibe I mean). Snare could sound a little crisper. Nice rhythms though. Really. I liked those classic dnb snare fills.

I think this is a song that needs to be listened to several times before it's truly appreciated as a work of art. I let it loop several times while I was typing this up. It grew on me a little, but really you should master it a bit better because it sounds a little sloppy as is. Great job though! Definatly doesn't deserve the 2.16 >:c

meow!

Well, the bass sounded fine to me through my headphones, and it came through great on my shit lap top speakers. Really everything sounds fucking awesome. Pads are great, drums are ace. I wish I could hear that one synth melody in the back more. The thought of whatever it is that's playing back there is really itching my brain.

I can't wait to hear where this goes. I really love it man.

Rig responds:

Thanks, man! I'm still figuring out how the thing will progress from here, haha.

Hey you jerk face!

This song sucks eggs and it is bad! I h8 joo.

But seriously it's fucking great man! I let this thing loop a few times while doing some stuff. Solid sounds, really ambient. Ahhh, so sexy :D

nice rawrthaas

I never heard the original, but I really like this. good keys, good synths, good pads, good stuff. The only thing I didn't like was the bass drum. It could have been a lot deeper and bassier. Also, I'm not a huge fan of trance, so yeah, I'm sorry if I end up giving you an 8 instead of a 9...

Is the original artist on newgrounds, or should I look him up elsewhere?

Rawrthaas responds:

Alt F4 is the collective name for Joonas Hahmo & Matti Kotala (discogs.com ftw). They are professional so they're not here on NG. I'm pretty sure Alt+F4 is the only original production by them. Everything else by them has been a remix of another song.

taffy...

Yo, fuck that snare...

...just kidding, I love it too. I remember hearing a snare like that on Calypso. I hated it the first 60 times I heard it, but it eventually clicked, and now it's one of my favorite noises out of your work. Right next to those ride cymbals you make use of. I can never seem to find an appropriate place to put them in my electronic rhythms. Love incorporating them into live sets though. Dunno.

I think that piano could have been brought forward a bit. My ears were leaning on the edge of my head phones trying to take it in. mra!

TAFFY!

Great sounds, classic Zenon dnb. Rock on.

purrrr

I've said it before and I'll say it again, your pianos sound divine. That vst really works man. Fuck it man, that shit sounds better than the real deal.

Synths and pads, warm and cool. The sounds and melodies out of your synths and pads usually don't need any crit, which is evident here. Awesome job man. Awesome. No complaints there.

Great track going on. I'm not a fan of that bass melody though, I feel like it could be so much more, or something entirely different.

Also, just giving you a heads up but I hate that vst guitar sound. I've heard it several times before, even out of cornandbeans, and I really just don't like it at all. You managed to squeeze out a few cool sounds here and there but there's just something about that sound that goes against the logical reasoning in my brain. You were obviously going for a more digital sound out of it anyways, and there's a very good chance that other people will love it, but I just can't. Sorry man. Still downloading and fiving it though. ;)

Also, after hearing that synth guitar loop like 8 times, it's not as bad. meow.

Rawrthaas responds:

woo

thanks for the long review :3

Yesssssss.

Very nice. This track paints a very pretty sound. The build in is quick, but very appropriate. Drums rock, love that voice attached to the rhythm. The pads sound good like always, the synth is key on, but I might try changing it a little, something doesn't click with me for some reason.

The track was short, so the review will echo in suite. Great stuff man. I always love hearing dnb out of you. It's so refreshing to get those melodies out of an otherwise mostly rhythmic genre. Rock on!
