meow mix : 3

lol. This is fucking intense dance mix happiness! I'm so playing this tomorrow night at my house rave. Now, I've kind of lost touch with pokemon over the years, so I'm not familiar with the melody. Did it come from a new game, or is this track entirely irrelevant to pokemon? Rawr.

Really great sound quality is pumping through this. Awesome synths, drums, and sex. Oh the sex is sooooo good. I'm usually not a fan of the less rhythmic electronic genres, but you did such a good job here. I'm floored. Get it? It was a pun... like... four to the floor? Um, yeah!

Kittens!

Jebbal responds:

Okay, but be careful! Someone died last time I played this at a party!

The song is from an old pokemon cd. It is completely relevant to pokemon! Its irrelevant to Wall-E, however, which is a shame. :(

You've complimented me so much! I feel like I need to say some nice things about you now! I like the way you move. I like the way you groove. FOUR TO THE FLOOR. I just wanted to try something different with the drums. People really neglect this drum pattern in the dance/trance genre.

Kittens?! Ya ok! Thanks for the review!

nice!

It's been a while since I left a review on anything (not including the drunken flaming I did yesterday :P)

Argh this sounds so tight with my new head phones. Those bass drums sound so gorgeous. The horns are like sex in my ears. Strings sound a little thin... might be the mix, might be my own personal tastes. Who knows :)

The vocals attack too quickly and sound extremely synthetic because of that. Play with the envelope of that a bit. Other than the attack, they sound great. Nice and thick.

What program do you use? I might have asked that before, but I'll ask it again :P

Suspended-3rd-Chord responds:

Glad to see you here Quarl! I'm pleased that you like this one :)

The strings are indeed thin, no contrabass or viola and the chords are actually just octave stabs, so yeah :)

As for the choir, that's a good idea, I got might try messing with the volume envelope a bit.

I use FL studio- but I assume you're interested in what the samples and sounds are :) East West Symphonic Gold is what I use, and the choirs are actually a free soundfont called "flobakks" .

Thanks for the review Quarl :D

Niceness!

Gorgeous break. If no one uses this by the time I actually finish a new toon, I'll use it... which reminds me. I still plan on animating something to Dawn Eternal. I just have to get off my ass ( or on it) and actually work on it.

Rawrthaas responds:

shweet :)

tomfulp favorited that song! yeaaay

oh yeah by that song i mean Dawn Eternal not this one

PERFECTION

OH WOW! You guys really out did yourselves. The production is way off the scales man! Those reeses, those kicks, those chill pads. Everything is just so perfect.

Dammmnnn. I like it at 1:38 when BOUNC3's part comes in. Fucking perfection. Ace shit. His trance breakdown really made my day. I'm guessing Paragon did the lead melody? It's pretty good, but not as good as some of her other stuff (cause like, we all know paragon's a gurl.)

Shiznat! Your hard dnb at around 2:21 BLEW ME AWAY! Holy crap. I'm floored to the floor. Get it? That was a pun. It was like four to the floor, but... well you get it.

Probably the thing I like best about this track is how perfectly it loops.

kittens!

lol. It's so funny to listen to your old toons and hear how much you've progressed with your sound over the years. I've offered trogdar this and I'll suggest it to you too. Figure out creative ways to present your work live and my school will pay to have you do a live set. You have three years to think about it. I know I'll be getting Rig down from canada sometime next semester, and I've been trying to figure out ways of presenting my work.

Ahem, the track is really good. It hits a vibe early on that evokes some of your old work. The drums are so full. Amen break, or somewhere else? I can never tell with you. The crescendo at 44 was godly. I'm listening in on my laptop speakers, so I'm sure there's a lot of juiciness I'm missing out on. But the leads are very clear. I think your mixing has gotten really good. Ar.

Ace track man! Beyond worth checking out/ downloading/ 5 voting.

haha yeah, it's pretty funny :)

fun! :D

Right on. I've said it before and I'll say it again. You have a way with melody. Always catchy and fun. Really interesting choice of instruments. Such light airy vibes, and that sub is a ton of fun. I want to get a bass so bad, and your bass melodies don't help ease that thought from my mind. Gah, so much fun.

Lax drums with heavy energy. Paradox? I don't think so... Interesting aux percussion.

You have a lot of talent. I'm curious, do you play any interments? I might have asked you that already.

Stan-SB responds:

i play bass, guitar, piano, ukelele (indeed) and i murder drums (in a bad way)

Weeeee ;)

I LOVE YOU!!! (platonically fag.)

When I come back, were gonna have a g-g-g-g-gay old time.

Great production quality. Too repetitive. 7 minutes off ctrl v. Thats why I took off two points in the review. Also, there's about 20 seconds of silence near the end you should have cropped out. Easy fix, so I don't really care.

Great job though, really pro mix. I hope it's your own work. I always get a little afraid when new faces submit really good stuff. It happens.

In any case, keep submitting. I'll be watching you :D

Decepticon420 responds:

Yes, it's all original. And there's a silence on the end? I never noticed it...I'll have to check the file.

Yes, I will have to crop that out and repost it. Sorry 'bout that.

meow mix!

Now this is some hard fucking dance music. It's so dirty. Gah. The melodic breakdowns work really well. There isn't a lot I could say that in some way or another needs work. I guess I could say that you need to be a little less repetitive, but thats a crime were all guilty of now isn't it?

Everything said, this is a really good mix. Good luck in the comp!

yar!

Interesting. I've never seen the simple wave visualizer react so well. There were times when it was fighting itself. Great mixing. Really grade A quality there.

Hmm, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this song. It's pretty good. Yeah, I guess it's kind of repetitive, but that didn't really bother me. I was too busy trying to pick out the different sounds in the back. That one high pitched melody in the back (at around 3:24) could have been eq'd further up maybe? Perhaps a crescendo to the front? Dunno. Maybe it's just prefrence. Mah, oh well. It's good enough for me.

Rock on SR.

I asked my cat about our current geo-political situations. She was speechless.
