If I used samples more often I'd probably recognize the pendulum drums...though I think I can hear them there regardless. Pendulums drums are usualy pretty straight forward. I like that heavy bass going on and the melodies were quite so epic. There really isn't alot I can say that I didn't like...though to be perfectly honest there was something about the intro that didn't click. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. I just didn't get too into it. Sorry man. In anycase, I'm deffinatly downloading this and throwing it onto my radio show track list which allready hosts quite a few of your tracks ;) RAWR.

I deffinatly owe you for a review or two. You always leave really awesome ones. ARR!

AHEM! First let me say that I really liked the melodic rhythms you chose. It sounds like classeic electronica, which might not normaly equate a high five but that kind of thing impresses me seeing as how i'm a rocker drummer who thinks in straight 8/8 with the occasional six thrown into the mix. Rhyme-awesome!

The drums didn't impress me too much. They sound a little better than the ones on your last track but this time my gripe was at how simple the rhythm was. That's pure opinion though. I guess if you were going for a more generic drum rythm in compensation for the melody then you probably went in the right direction.

It sounds to me like your using presets. I use garage band, so I wouldn't know if you were using FL or what ever but it really sounds like presets. Even if they're not just the fact that they "sound" like presets should be a hint that maybe something should be done in due concept. Dunno if that makes any sense.

The last thing I wanted to touch on was how it didn't remind me of a really ambient piece. It might be because I think of the term "ambient" as less of a genre and more as a proper term. Example; if I were to take the term ambient and consider it literally, I would not assume that the form of ambient music would even contain rhythm. The straight 4/4 beat changes my conception of the term "ambient"and makes it seem a little more structured.

I hope my input helped , or more importantly I hope that you were able to cull anything from that. Overall I really liked the track. They melodic rhythms were really fun, and some of the ambient mellodies were sounding really hxc chill. WOAH paradox. One more thing to ad before I take off. I notice how long it's been since the last time I reviewed one of your tracks. Thing is, the last track I reviewed was your previous latest. WOAH oxymoron. I'm guessing you havn't been making as much music? Ummm....AR!

p.s. I'm not sure if you could notice but I got drunker as the review dragged on. ;D

srlaeg1!!

Ar, got some excelent vibes coming off here. Some neats sounds...ummm sucks about the CPU...arr. Oh well. What can you do? At least the track sounds good around the transitions. Really solid track. I'm gonna trust that you know what your doing and instead of leaving an insightful critique, I'm just gonna leave you a friendly e-thumbs up! ARRR!

All right, another Rawrthaaaaassssss track. Sweat deal.

It all sounds good, no real complaints about anything, though the track does sound a little low. You should bring everything up next time, though it was easy enough to raise the volume on my speakers. With that minor problem aside, there really isn't anything negative about this. Nice sounds coming through...pianos, strings, flute. All mixed really well. The drums sounded pretty chill. Arrrr, good sounds man. I tried voting you up, seems like you've suffered some undecent voting treatment man. ARRRR.

HEY you're online!

did you still wanna collab?

I thought it was pretty good. The guitar sounds pretty synthetic but the melodies are nice. The rhythm was sexy man. Good polyrhythms. I thought the parts at 1:05 and 1:46 were a little out of place. They didn't sound like they belonged in the song...but how you take that remark is your call. You can keep the section in there. It isn't bad or anything, it just sounds like it belongs in another song. The ending was kind of weak. Just one chord on the piano? You could have done better I'm sure.

All in all, it's an all right song. I gave it a five because it got down voted but it probably deserved a three in it's current state. I will take note that this version is "unfinished." Fix the few elements in this song that don't work to it's advantage and you could have a killer track right here.

Hmmm, quite the sex you got going on here. Intro was really nice. Melodies, sub bass, excellent. Really really cool intro man. Really cool. Traditional beat...but I think it could have used a stronger snare. The lead synth sounds a little weak too. Hmm. Ar. There was a piano in there that I really liked. I think you could have brought that forward a bit. It was too quite to really enjoy.

Overall, this song rocks. It's really nice and really peaceful. I tip my hat at you sir.

maximusmonk responds:

Yeah, I agree with you about making some parts stronger. I guess I just don't put much thought into the fine-tuning, particularly since I'm not exactly working with state-of-the-art equipment. It's hard to get the sound you're looking for when your only instrument is Fruity Loops, and when your speakers are only slightly better than the crap that is packaged with your computer.

wow this is weird. Really cool, but really weird. I might recommend turning the snare down a bit but thats pretty much my only gripe...aside from the parts where the bass drum plays solid on the counts. Try some off beat stuff to make it sound a little more ambient and vary the rhythm a bit. It's a little repetitive. Overall, good job. I like this sound man.

Rawr!

Such a great remix. You really captured the essence of the original track while maintaining a new sound. I love Squarepushers work, and I love it when people try to get his sound. My only complaint is that this is way too short. I understand how much work went into producing it but honestly, this could have stood to be a little longer. AR. Keep up the good work man.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

longer, no ways, it was getting to be real pain in the arse... go and listen to the original, it's way better:/

Hmm, nice easy tempo, some fair piano, some ambient percussion...this is a really lax track. Interesting synthetic instrument you used...came in at around 00:40. When it cuts in and out it reminds me of a hearing test. Gotta raise the correct hand. lol. I don't feel like I have proper feedback to provide because it all sounds really good...oh wait. Those drums...I'm sorry. I guess I should have waited instead of jumping straight into the review. The rhythm isn't the problem. It's a fair rhythm. The drum set you used just sounds really bad. :( If it makes you feel any better, i'd have you know that the drums sound better on lower end speakers. I listened to the track again with my shitty lap top speakers ;D

All in all, this is a really chill track with some really cool elements thrown about liberally. Other than my gripes with the drums, there really isn't much wrong going on here. Keep on keeping on.

rwowwaaaaaa

This tickled me greatly with much vigor :D I must say, I'm a fan of the imperial march, but I think I liked the track better when you explored the vibe away from the classic melody. The rhythm could have used some work. Sure trance isn't known for having a complex rhythm, but maybe you could have given this a break beat? Dunno, I think it might work. Also, the instruments sound really weak. Presets?

I asked my cat about our current geo-political situations. She was speechless.
