Wasn't expecting to spend half an hour on a beatbox improv session but wooo Beardyman's pretty impressive. Wish the switch-up's weren't all as frequent sometimes though. Some awesome groves seem to get killed before they really flourish.

No doubt = classic Ska at this point no? ;) Wish I'd been to a live show at least a bit like: https://youtu.be/qf_tfei05oU

Yoko Bono lol.

Went down a bit of a rabbithole with these and ended up at: https://youtu.be/T1j1_aeK6WA

Beardyman improvises his sets so he can be hit or miss. When he hits he hits it nice though. I bet No Doubt was awesome live in the 90s during their tragic kingdom sound. Reading up on them now, super cool band history. Never got to see them, was too young for their good stuff. We were making fun of No Doubt by the time we got to middle school for changing to a more accessible pop electronic sound. I did have the chance to see Reel Big Fish like 6 times though. They still tour too, only one guy from the original band though. I bet they still rock a fun live noise, worth looking into when covid blows over.

Same, though doesn't seem impossible they might come around again, Gwen's still got that energy, don't know about the rest but loved the chemistry they had in every set too. I didn't get introduced to them properly until their Hey Baby phase, first tape I bought, but backtracked. What a rad pack they were back back!!! And with Sublime and all. Them times with awe.

Never heard of Reel Big Fish hmm, new rabbit hole ready...

I would be surprised if Gwen can still hit those notes and trill those trills. Vocalists can burn out their chords quick and she had such a unique voice. She old now. Out of everyone in the band, she's the one I'd expect least to return to performing but would be most needed. According to wikipedia Gwen is basically done with it. Her heart wasn't in the last album :C

I've been listening to Purdie drum for the last six minutes. Guy has some good flow. He knows his triplets <3

Hmm I don't know tho: https://youtu.be/vZvkyfwD8mI

Definitely more processed now, and accent seems a little different too buuut I saw Robert Plant live a couple years back and he still had it! Even if it took about an hour until he warmed up enough for the high notes. Still seems possible! She ain't in that age range yet now!

Hehe I wasn't expecting to get so hooked to that Purdie triplet lesson session. :) Glad you watched it all the way. on my third time through now...

If you're liking drum tutorials you should look this one up...

Louis Cole had a cool idea here of playing them slow aside notation then speeding them up. Guy is hella clean.

So clean. So fast. So varied too. Missed a little bit of the Purdie chuckle and all at first but... Hi-hat's optional... drums are optional... conforming to society is optional haha... alright this works too! XD Saving this if ever I get a set...
