Unf, big nuero sound! Not a lot of room for much else in that spectrum is there? I've really fallen in love with the snappy snare sounds. There might be a little too much delay/reverb on that cool pad causing some distortion to the end sound but you do you. I love using an automation lanes on different sections to fix up fidelity at spots that need it, bleed in the reverb when it makes sense and less on the chorus. Nice amen breaks :D

Tight sound Mr. Sinth <3

Sinthology responds:

Thank you for the kind words and the feedback. Insisting on using large, spectrum-spanning neuro synths is perpetually causing me problems, but I can't stop; it's a sickness.

Damn, big sound kronos. Lovely synth work and crisp drums <3

kronosxl responds:

Thank you so much Quarl, i appreciate it.

Gorgeous hip hops, loved that horn. Keys were haunting. I always fall behind with your work cause your always pumping out great stuff :'C

Casper responds:

I used to upload every single track I managed to finish but now I stick to the good ones lol. There's a bunch of failed attempts that I will forever keep hidden from the world.

The horn is a sample, I'm not that good at writing melodies D:

Thank you for the quick response! I love chopping this kind of stuff up for samples because it forces me to sit down and really listen to everything. Divorced from your voice there are wonderful sounds in the background. I'm chopping up every other word and phrase because you take very responsible pauses before finishing thoughts. It leads to some very fluent sampling. You have a unique cadence and what sounds like a decent mic that captured all the right tones. You have these story telling moments with very unique gibberish that I can't sample but consistently makes me laugh.

My favorite story so far is the one about the DS. I have a very similar story but it involves a full blown drum kit. I've also had good stuff stolen from me. It's a fascinatingly relatable story. I'm not religious but have always appreciated the idea of karma. I'm much better the older I get. Had a falling out with my bestie ten years ago, had a chance to gank a gameboy color with pokemon yellow, red, and silver plus a few other classics she left at my house. Understanding how important that was to her I eventually gave it all back AFTER DELETING HER SAVE DATA AND MAKING MY OWN FILES, I'M SO EVIL. HA, I HOPE SHE CHECKS WHAT I NAMED GARY, HINT- IT'S NOT GARY D:<

Giving the Gameboy back took so much self control. I hope she appreciates it, younger me would have kept it. May she come to the realization one day while playing it that I was the realest friend and she was a total bitch- PETTY, WHY AM I STILL SO PETTY?? WHY WOULD I THINK THIS, SHE STILL LIVING IN MY HEAD RENT FREE. GET OUT OF MY CONCIOUS REALITY KATIE, YOU WERE A TOTAL- ahem. Sorry about that outburst.

I regret not keeping the Gameboy.

much love quarl lol :v

Did I even realize you were doing Jamuary? Is this your first track that I've commented on? I'm missing out, love your work Diossel. Jamuary feels a little disjointed this year, I liked having a thread dedicated to taking notice of other people also trudging the month. There's an unofficial thread but I've only been posting in it sparsely...

In any case, this is a beautiful track Diossel. I don't take enough time from my life to look around at what others are doing but I'm always floored when I do. This is haunting, minimal but a wonderful soundtrack for an emotional ride. I've always acted on the adage that more is more but there's something to be said about taking an idea and minimizing it down to perfect bare essentials. I recall a sophomore year foundry crit (metal art, welding, pouring) and the teacher tore into a student for not understanding the genre "minimal." Minimal isn't taking a complex idea and making it simple to save time or effort. It's taking a basic idea and making it perfect or pure, refining the art down to it's own specific reality.

Actually the teacher just hated that student but there is something to be said about using minimalism to avoid making an effort. This is a little more than minimalism but still manages to do so much with so little. This is a wonderful track Diossel, thank you for making something so hauntingly peaceful <3

This year I started late again, this time I'm being a little more constant, thanks for your warm comments, regarding this song in fact I would have liked to add more things to it, not to be so minimal but after reading the comment I changed my mind Maybe I'm judging my work a lot because I don't have much time to work on a song every day, but I'm having fun in a certain way, I'll also take some time to listen to the songs for Jamuary that others have done, surely there are very good ones songs out there

Love it. Big dnb sound, intro got me hyped. I like to use Jamuary to farm for new EP material. If were you I'd come back to this one later and put some more work on it or "remix" it later this month when you want an easy day :D

Beautiful :3

Alright, I can vibe to that. Great sound and music Orrphoiz :3

Glad you enjoy my sound and vibe with my self description, haha :D

If ParagonX9 was still writing music I'm sure their contemporary dnb sound would be something like this. Hella throwback to the old video game dnb sound Newgrounds helped popularize but with some modern mixing twists. Looks like the track is being unnecessarily compressed. It's either a limiter on the master out or a compressor/limiter on every instrument. I learn towards the first. The degree of foot shooting that goes into over compressing can usually be fixed with a button press or two.

A lot of producers avoid mixing bricks because of the negative aspects that can come from over compression but then they simultaneously over limit themselves and they never find the outer limits of what they can compress to. It's really confusing at first but EDM artists should mix a few "bricks" just to learn where that fine line is. The track still sounds great though, amazing work. Beautiful melodies, textures, and drums. I'm currently sharing an office and can't let this track rip. My open back headphones would interfere with my fiancé's conference call, they have speakers on the outside of the cans to create more space and atmosphere in the sound, depth. The downside is that anyone can hear what you're listening to :C

Cheers Takobai! I'll have to dig into some of your other tunes later today when I have the office to myself :3

edit: furry? the heck is that tag doing XD

TakobaiMusic responds:

Really appreciate the feedback and comment. I will admit I still have a lot to learn about using a limiter and compresser. I currently have my project/template set in way that each instruments goes to indivial busses (One for basses, one for leads, ect) then I do compress on the bus THEN again slightly on the master with Ozone. I will try to hold back on it.

edit: my previous works are less of the vibes, im still finding my mark but I really LOVE this vibe/genre with this current track.

When everyone screams about AI ruining music just remember, I ruined it first.
