LOL, after reading that post it's like you're admitting that all your music is stolen. Just for using a preset pad? hahaha. everybody uses some type of preset here and there, its what you do with it and how you persoanlize to make it flow into your track. (and I'm sure it wasn't in its wrong form)

yes, i thought you were a bit harsh towards FJK, and sometimes I don't like your opinions (I remember once you said you were from an art school, and you knew what defined as art and you said someone's music wasn't) but you hardly are the hypocrite in this case. It's good to see that you are being humble and apologizing; but you had a legitimate cause for being irritated.

From hearing other GB songs (I have a pretty good experience with its capabilities) YOU used it to its full potential. Like you said in your last post, FK was a liar. He complained to use GB to its fullest potential, when he CLEARLY didnt.

He gets mad when you give him a low rating; when you try to suggest advice he ignores it or tries to give an excuse with not seeing where a reviewer is coming from. I tried giving him advice several months ago to stop using the same damn whole note theme for the background, include more textures, but he disregards what I say.

I also remember him bitching about never reaching the top 5....and i've seen him on several blog posts asking people to add him to his favorites or use his music in his flash games....

so, its good to hear that you're not going to hold a grudge and apologize to him. but he too, has some apologizing to carry out as well. in the end, don't sweat it you're not in the wrong bro.

I also wanted to add, sure electronic music is about synthesizing your own sounds, but there's nothing wrong with you using a preset synth, giving it a few modifications to set what you want within in the track. i for one, am not going to spend hours developing a synth for scratch if its going to ruin my composing abilities. other than synths that i already know how to make, i'd rather take out a preset made by a PROFESSIONAL sound designer, and make a few filter tweaks, maybe give it an LFO cut off some oscillators, mess with the panning and volume outputs and whatnot, if i struggle from scratch and come out with a shitty synth, what good is that? same could be said for a drum sample, good luck making one of those sound realistic from just a sine wave and noise (such as acoustic drums) i'd rather take a preset sample and throw it through some compressors and EQing. it's about taking other pieces and building from it. you can say with a lot of things in life. (this is just my view, as I find the compositional aspects more important, but that depends on the person!)

as for the compositonal aspects, theres nothing wrong with premade loops either. There purpose is not just slapping them together in there raw form and making a track like in Ejay (not to say its not producing, just a very, very lame way of doing so), but be creative with it. 99% of DnB artists have used premade loops at one time. But they just dont slap the amen break and let it loop through the entire track they slice it up and rearrange the drumm patterns, put it threw a boatload of FX, these artists make it sound interesting. another creative usage of sound loops is a genre called mashup (is that correct?) i remember reading about a song that took elements from several pop tracks (because pop was supposed to be the most appealing style of music, since its whats most played) and combined them together, thusly creating the ultimate song. Now those are examples of innovative ideas, IMO.
