Love it. Big dnb sound, intro got me hyped. I like to use Jamuary to farm for new EP material. If were you I'd come back to this one later and put some more work on it or "remix" it later this month when you want an easy day :D

Beautiful :3

Thank you quarl !!
my plan was to release this song and make it 3min something
(ive been working on it all the time.. i can't stop)

Not giving dnb the credit like "this is just dance music" is killing me. This has that dirty ol' Evol Intent Era Of Diversion sound. I'd have done bigger drums but sidechaining them to the front and over compressing them is my thing. If you even try to steal my thing I'm going to do absolutely nothing about it. Great work Wax <3

Very fun! Love the energy and melodies :3

As I sit here trying to find samples for my next Jamuary track while laughing my ass off...

Thankfully my impressions of Rick and Morty got better XD

This is the best worm I've heard all day.

Gorgeous textures and vibes. Not sure if this is a new idea or not but when I want a little extra bass fatness and the graphic EQ isn't cutting it, I use Reason's scream distortion unit to create and boost new mid/low/high tones. I used to just layer different kinds of basses on top of each other. I haven't used a slap patch in a long time but one of those in conjunction with a subby sine can make a wonderful new bass tone together. Takes a lot of knob twiddling between instruments and effect units to get the sounds you want but it's so worth it when you start nailing in a subby tone on the regular. That limiter is still stealing a little girth from the mix but it sounds a lot fuller today! That extra girth is where I would stuff sub frequencies :p

Love that goofy snare drum. Sorry that I always look at the mix, it's bad habit. Track still sounds perfect in every other way and the mix is only ever going to be an issue to outliers like me :3

There's a lot you can do in an hour with a good synth patch! Very atmospheric pads. My favorite sound was the warm crackling <3

Me: "well this guy seems interesting. Let me stop by his profile..."

Alright, I can vibe to that. Great sound and music Orrphoiz :3

Glad you enjoy my sound and vibe with my self description, haha :D

Bops majestically. Could use some Japanese Pillows vocalist jabbering incoherent english words. Or you could do a different style and vibe but the indy rock feels very real. Could go for something like The Cure, I'm sure you can pull off some awkward Robert Smith vocals!

If ParagonX9 was still writing music I'm sure their contemporary dnb sound would be something like this. Hella throwback to the old video game dnb sound Newgrounds helped popularize but with some modern mixing twists. Looks like the track is being unnecessarily compressed. It's either a limiter on the master out or a compressor/limiter on every instrument. I learn towards the first. The degree of foot shooting that goes into over compressing can usually be fixed with a button press or two.

A lot of producers avoid mixing bricks because of the negative aspects that can come from over compression but then they simultaneously over limit themselves and they never find the outer limits of what they can compress to. It's really confusing at first but EDM artists should mix a few "bricks" just to learn where that fine line is. The track still sounds great though, amazing work. Beautiful melodies, textures, and drums. I'm currently sharing an office and can't let this track rip. My open back headphones would interfere with my fiancé's conference call, they have speakers on the outside of the cans to create more space and atmosphere in the sound, depth. The downside is that anyone can hear what you're listening to :C

Cheers Takobai! I'll have to dig into some of your other tunes later today when I have the office to myself :3

edit: furry? the heck is that tag doing XD

TakobaiMusic responds:

Really appreciate the feedback and comment. I will admit I still have a lot to learn about using a limiter and compresser. I currently have my project/template set in way that each instruments goes to indivial busses (One for basses, one for leads, ect) then I do compress on the bus THEN again slightly on the master with Ozone. I will try to hold back on it.

edit: my previous works are less of the vibes, im still finding my mark but I really LOVE this vibe/genre with this current track.

Stay in school, don't do drugs. I hate it when kids get involved with drugs, I just want them to stay in school so I know where everything is. Kids go to school, my drugs stay at home, nothing goes missing. Everything is in balance.
